Interoperability of knowledge databases
There is a great diversity of data sources worldwide which e.g. provide information on genetic alterations of cancer diseases. However, linking and evaluating the data can be quite difficult. On one side there is semantic interoperability, which means joining data of the same type from different databases. On the other side we have to consider technical interoperability, which focuses on standardized interfaces. Achieving interoperable databases allows us to use knowledge worldwide for decision support in everyday clinical practice. |

Study designs for personalized medicine
Present study designs are based on large groups of patients e.g. for testing the efficacy of medication. However, personalized medicine focuses on customized therapies for one single patient. Participants discuss possible solution approaches for selected topics (immuno-oncology, DNA repair, cell cycle). |
